In this Instagram live, over at @blushbeautyandhair, we discussed our favourite contour and highlight products, from barely there to mega-watt glow…
Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Series Contour Kit, £42
Great for: Subtle contour with all the colours you could need for a pro kit.
Not so good for: Those purchasing just for themselves – you might find you end up using just one colour.
Grace loves it because: The diversity of colours means you can create a subtle contour on most skin tones.
Kevin Aucoin The Sculpting Powder, £35
Great for: Those that love a good powder contour.
Not so good for: Those that contour heavily every day – the small size means you would have to repurchase regularly which would get very expensive.
Penny loves it because: It is the perfect grey-brown which mimics shadows beautifully. It also comes in three shades so will suit most skin tones.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder Highlighter in Opal, £30
Great for: A beautiful gold highlight that is universally flattering.
Not so good for: Those who prefer a cream or liquid based highlight.
Grace loves it because: It’s so natural but leaves the skin with a lovely glow that you can build upon for a night out. The power is so soft it almost feels creamy.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Pearl, £24
Great for: A gorgeous, subtle glow.
Not so good for: Those who want their highlight to be seen from space.
Penny loves it because: It looks beautiful on all skin tones and gives a wonderful, lit-from-within glow.
Iconic London Illuminator, £30
Great for: Those who want a highlighter that can be worn natural or built up to a mega-watt shine.
Not so good for: Those who want a natural highlight but who don’t like to use brushes or beauty blenders as it really needs to be buffed in well.
Grace loves it because: It’s so concentrated you only need the tiniest drop to give you a beautiful glow. You can add it to primer, foundation or even moisturiser making this product super versatile and it comes in four colours.
Kora Organics, Rose Quartz Luminizer, £25
Great for: Those who like a pinky tone to their highlighter.
Not so good for: Those who have very tanned or darker skin tones.
Penny loves it because: It gives an amazing sheen to the face and works particularly well for very fair skin.
