Recently I came home to find a huge, surprise parcel on my doorstep. It was honestly like Christmas when I opened it to find 16 different Schwarzkopf Osis styling products to try! Many of you know I have, in the last six months, had my hair cut from waist length to a short, choppy bob, and I tend to just wash, blow dry and leave it, which works thanks to the amazing skills of my hairdresser, Kate Bevan of Pompadour in Hastings. However, armed with an array of new products, I thought I’d try out some different looks. Here’s what I came up with – shorter hairstyles can be pretty versatile as you’ll see!
The natural, tousled look.
This is my go to, every day look. I started with the Volume Up volume booster spray spritzed into my roots and then I blasted my hair with the hairdryer, lifting the roots and tousling it as I went. I finished by rubbing some Mess Up matte paste between my fingers to soften it and then distributing it through the mid-lengths and ends to create a textured, piecey look.
This look is great for holidays and summer evenings out. After thoroughly towel drying my hair, I spritzed in some Session Label Salt Spray (don’t use too much of this as an overload will leave your hair looking and feeling extremely dry) and then I blow dried on a medium heat and speed, scrunching my hair as I dried it (for longer hair try using a diffuser attachment). Finally, I used Sparkler shine spray to add a little more life to my hair. Giving myself a centre parting instead of my customary side parting also changed my look. A flower tucked behind the ear would be the perfect accessory to this casual, but pretty, look.
The wet look.
I think this would be perfect for final day festival hair or when only rock chick styling will do. I began by combing a generous amount of Damped wet look pomade through my hair. Then I created a quiff and pinned in place. I finished off by slicking back the sides and using a generous amount of Session extreme hold hairspray.
Smooth and sleek.
A more grownup, polished look, I love this for posh events or dinners out. I smoothed a small amount of
Upload volume cream through my hair and distributed evenly using a wide-toothed comb. Then I blow dried using a medium, round vent brush, creating lots of lift at the roots. To smooth out any flyaways, I rubbed a tiny amount of Magic anti frizz shine serum into my hands and gently stroked over my hair from about a third of the way down to the bottom.
Straight and textured.
Still polished, but a bit funkier than the look above, this is my party look. I began by rough drying my hair and then spritzing Flatliner heat protective spray throughout my hair. I then straightened small sections starting with the underneath and working my way up to the top layer of my hair. Next, I rubbed a small amount of Dust It mattifying powder between my fingertips and shook them through my hair starting at the roots to create a matte, textured look. I finished with a light spritz of Freeze Pump strong hold pump spray.
All the above products are stocked at Schwarzkopf Professional salons.
